Uva Ursi is a long-standing treatment for UTI's, due to its antimicrobial properties and diuretic effects. It is also useful in cases of cystitis and kidney stones. The hydroquinone derivative, arbutin, is the chief active compound in uva ursi. It is absorbed in the stomach and converted into a substance with antimicrobial, astringent, and disinfectant properties. During urination, as it passes out of the body, it acts on the mucus membranes of the urinary tract to soothe irritation, reduce inflammation, and fight infection.*

Usnea also has antimicrobial and diurectic action, supporting the action of Uva Ursi. Echinacea is well-known for its immune-supporting action, maintaining healthy inflammatory response, promoting healthy interferon levels, and supporting phagocytic activity of macrophage cells.*
