Pau D’Arco Max-V, provided by Douglas Laboratories, supplies 250 mg of standardized Pau D’Arco in a vegetarian capsule. *
Pau D'Arco (Tabebuia avellenedae) is a large tree of the rainforest and parts of tropical South America. It has a long and well-documented history of use by the indigenous people of the South American rainforests who use several species of this tree. Traditionally, the inner bark of the tree was used to treat conditions such as malaria and respiratory problems. Napthoquinones are considered to be important active ingredients in Pau D’arco. Studies have demonstrated that these active constituents can have important benefits for immune and gastrointestinal health.*
