Lycopene X-Tra contains lycopene which is found in tomatoes, watermelon, guava and pink grapefruit, giving them their bright red color. This source is a standardized extract from tomatoes. Lycopene is the most effective antioxidant in the carotenoid family and possesses higher antioxidant activity against damaging free radicals than beta carotene. Lycopene may also, because of it's ability to scavenge free radicals and reduce risks of heart disease by lowering levels of oxidized LDL, reduce risks of some types of cancer, and reduce risk of age-related macular degeneration and other degenerative effects of the aging process. Bioperine® has been added to increase absorption of lycopene.*
