Artemesia has been used traditionally for clearing damp heat and clearing jaundice from the liver and gallbladder channels. Artemesia has been shown to be supportive to the body in the regeneration of liver cells, reduction of fever, skin rashes, nausea, edema, chills, viral related liver conditions, for resolving gallstones, lowering bilirubin and cholesterol levels and promoting the flow of bile.*

Has been used traditionally to support the liver, kidneys, heart and lungs. Schizandra has been shown to beneficially effect, blood pressure, circulation, viral related liver conditions and SGPT levels (lowering toxic load) and to have a calming effect.*

Livercel is a product made from Korean and Chinese herbs that have been used historically in Oriental medicine to support the liver and clear infections and inflammation from the body.  After passing chronic and acute toxicity testing in animals, a pilot two year study was undertaken with HCV patients.*

The promising results from the first 10 patients reported Hepatitis C RNA dropping well below original levels. Further testing is being pursued. The patients were diagnosed positive for antibodies to the Hepatitis C virus, and showed elevated levels of GPT (glutamic pyruvate transaminase) and had chronic illness for 3 to 20 years before using Livercel. Initial quantitative levels of HCV RNA of the patients ranged from 1x108 to 1x109 ( one hundred million to one billion) copies per 1ml serum.  Two 500 mg capsules of the herbal combination were taken twice a day, between meals, during the study, which lasted from 6 to 24 months.  Patients were monitored bimonthly for ALT (GPT) level and virological evaluation of HCV.  For the measurement of HCV-RNA, RT-PCR (reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) was used in patients' serum.*

All 10 patients in the study showed good responses to herbal application, and their HCV-RNA levels gradually lowered from one billion or one hundred million to one thousand copies/ml serum during the study.  The prompt reduction in HCV RNA was observed one month after the administration to each patient of 2,000mg per day. The HCV RNA levels gradually lowered during therapy.*

Oral administration of Livercel resulted in the reduction of HCV RNA from 1 x108 or 1 x109 to 1 x103, a million fold decrease. SGOT, bilirubin, albumin, total protein and cholesterol levels were also improved. Patients testified to the following improvements: improved quality of sleep, increased physical energy level, increased body weight and smoother, softer skin. This immediate response appeared in the majority of patients. No adverse symptoms were observed.*

Livercel was found to be non-toxic even at levels well beyond the therapeutic dosage necessary for humans. No side effects or drug or nutrient interactions were found with Livercel. However, it is strongly suggested individuals taking Livercel not consume alcohol, as progress may be adversely affected. Livercel was stopped after patients exhibited HCV-RNA of one thousand for six months and were tested by ELISA HCV antibodies every 2 months for a period of six months.*
