Chronic dosing:

Pets under 1 lb:
All pets under 1 lb should be dosed by putting one to two (1-2) drops in drinking water daily.
Each remedy comes in a 15 ml liquid dropper bottle and may be dosed directly into the mouth, in food/treat or in water/milk. There are approximately 350-375 drops per bottle. For a pet under 20 lbs/10 kg one bottle will last 3-4 weeks, dosing 3 times daily. For a pet 20-100 lbs/10-50 kg, one bottle will last 10-13 days at 3 doses daily.All HomeoPet remedies are the same size and administered in the same manner. | Acute cases are those that have a sudden onset such as thunderstorm anxiety, vet or grooming visits, travel or an injury. For these or similar situations, a dose may be given every 15 minutes up to 4 doses. Remedy only needs to be used when symptoms are present. Dosing may be started one hour before appointment or car trip. Chronic cases such as joint problems, incontinence, or persistent skin conditions may be dosed three (3) times daily to start and cut back with signs of improvement to twice daily and eventually once daily. A maintenance dose of once daily may be required long term for joints, incontinence or skin allergies. General cases for all remedies, use three (3) doses daily to start and wean down as mentioned above with improvement. Remedy may be discontinued when symptoms disappear. Avian applications: A caged bird can be medicated with one to two (1 - 2) drops in the drinking water daily. Pets under 1 lb : All pets under 1 lb should be dosed by putting one to two (1 - 2) drops in the drinking water daily. Amount of drops for one dose (by weight):
•1-20 lbs (10 kg)…5 drops = one dose
•20-100 lbs (10-50 kg)…10 drops = one dose
•Over 100 lbs (50 kg)…15 drops = one dose Multiple pets:
If you are dosing multiple pets with the same remedy on a daily basis you may put 5 drops of the remedy for each pet in the water bowl every morning with fresh water and as each pet drinks throughout the day they will get a dose and so the remedy will work just as well. In very rare cases a pet may be super sensitive to homeopathy or the alcohol preservative that is used in liquid homeopathics, if this happens a pet may vomit or salivate right away after being dosed, this is a reaction that always passes. If this happens you may dose a remedy by putting 3 drops into a glass of water and dosing your pet with one teaspoon of the medicated water. Weaning down:
If a remedy is working well and you start cutting back as mentioned above and symptoms start to worsen again you can go back to original dosing and stay there a little longer before weaning down again. If a remedy is working well and you do not start cutting back and symptoms start to worsen it just means that an aggravation of symptoms has occurred from over use, stopping the remedy for 3 days will reverse the symptoms, then you can start over as if using for the first time and wean down as mentioned above. |

| Yes, HomeoPet remedies are preserved in 20% USP alcohol, which is pure ethyl alcohol, used for preserving homeopathics. Because there is only a drop or two of alcohol per dose, most pets will have no response to oral dosing. In rare cases a cat or dog may be sensitive to alcohol and can potentially salivate excessively or shake their head in response to the alcohol content. You can alleviate this in the future by putting the drops on food/treat and letting them sit for 20 minutes before presenting to your pet. Alternatively placing drops in a small amount of water and letting sit for 20 minutes will prevent reaction. |
