LÄRABAR is a delicious blend of unsweetened fruits, nuts and spices. Made from 100% whole food, each flavor contains no more than six ingredients. Pure and simple, just as nature intended. In addition to our 12 delicious LARABAR flavors, there are six JOCOLAT brand flavors: Chocolate Hazelnut, Chocolate Cherry, Chocolate Orange, Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Coffee, and the original Chocolate.
LÄRABAR is free of gluten, dairy, soy, corn, added sugars and sweeteners, preservatives, fillers and colorings. LÄRABAR is rich in fiber, antioxidants, heart-healthy Omega 3 & 6 essential fatty acids, beneficial carbohydrates, essential vitamins and minerals.

 It started out as just a hike, no different than countless others I've taken into the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Little did I know I was about to come up with a mountain of an idea: Combine wholesome ingredients such as fruits and nuts to create a food product that's tasty, healthy and convenient.
In that instant, in May 2000, LÄRABAR was born. After scouring the aisles of grocery stores and noting popular flavors of ice cream and cookies, I delved into my own product development. Natural foods, I believed, should be fun and enjoyable as well as good for you. With friends and family serving as focus groups, I tinkered with recipes until a consensus on yummi-ness was reached.
The next step was to launch a company to market what would initially be five delicious LÄRABAR flavors: Cherry Pie, Apple Pie, Cashew Cookie, Banana Cookie, and Chocolate Coconut Chew. I also assembled a sophisticated manufacturing arm...what amounted to be a Cuisinart and a rolling pin. The first batch of bars I produced for retail had to be sealed by hand - all 500 of them!
Thank goodness we have machines for that job today. After all, we're producing millions of LÄRABARS every year. They are a healthy indulgence you can feel good about eating.
And "feeling good" is what it's all about. Believe it or not, I used to be a junk food junkie - until I discovered how natural foods enlivened my mind, body and spirit. A passion for healthy living soon followed, and continues to be a driving force behind everything I do professionally and personally. I really appreciate the opportunity I have to make a positive difference in the world we live in.

What are the quality standards for LÄRABAR ingredients?
All natural, No added sugars or sweeteners, Raw, Non-GMO, Non-irradiated, No sulfites, No preservatives, No fillers, No colorings, Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Soy-free, Vegan, Kosher.
What is meant by raw?
Raw means uncooked food in its real, most natural form. At LÄRABAR, we use ingredients dehydrated below 118 degrees, which we consider to be raw. In addition, our ingredients do not exceed 118 degrees in the production of LÄRABAR.
Are cashews truly raw?
Heat steaming is often used to extract the cashew nut from the fruit of the tree. It's not known for certain whether or not the nut is actually heated during the process. Regardless, we feel that cashews are loaded with vitamins and minerals and fit into a healthy diet.
Does LÄRABAR use raw cocoa?
LÄRABAR does not use raw cocoa powder at this time. Because of LÄRABAR's unique flavor profile as well as the challenge of finding a quality and consistent supply, we have chosen to use cocoa powder from a roasted cocoa bean. We feel the health benefits, including high antioxidant content, far outweigh the fact that the cocoa has been heated.
Where does the cocoa in LÄRABAR come from?
We source our cocoa from farmers and communities that support sustainability and Fair Trade, which ensures that workers are treated with dignity and protects against forced labor and child labor abuses.
How can a raw product have such a long shelf life?
We use a multi-layer package that keeps out UV light and oxygen, which, in turn, maintains freshness without the use of preservatives.
What is the shelf life of LÄRABAR?
12 months.
Will a LÄRABAR freeze or melt?
No. LÄRABAR will become softer in warm temperatures and firmer in cold temperatures, but, in either case, it will remain chewy and enjoyable.
Do LÄRABAR products contain peanuts?
We currently make one product that contains peanuts: LÄRABAR Peanut Butter Cookie. We take the peanut allergen issue very seriously and have made certain that all LÄRABAR products containing peanuts are made in a dedicated manufacturing facility. This means that the product containing peanuts do not come into contact with our other LÄRABAR products, thus there is no possibility of cross contamination in the manufacturing process. While we manufacture our peanut flavor in a dedicated manufacturing facility, we cannot guarantee that any of our ingredients have not come in contact with peanuts prior to reaching our manufacturing facility or after they have been shipped.
Are the peanuts in LÄRABAR Peanut Butter Cookie roasted? What percentage of this flavor is raw?
Yes, we use roasted peanuts in Peanut Butter Cookie because we feel the taste is more appealing. For people who follow a strict raw food diet, the Peanut Butter flavor is 60% raw which is also noted on our packaging.
What is extra virgin coconut oil?
Extra virgin coconut oil is a tropical oil that is extracted using a cold pressed method from fresh coconuts.
What is the lemon juice concentrate and lemon flavor used in the LÄRABAR Lemon Bar?
The lemon juice concentrate we use is made from pure lemon juice and lemon pulp, which is flash pasteurized to ensure that it is safe to consume. The lemon flavor we use is made from a cold press process during which the fruit skin yields pure essential oil.
Why is LÄRABAR not organic?
To produce the best product at an everyday value price, LÄRABAR is made with all natural ingredients. We'll consider using organic ingredients at the point that suppliers can meet both our quality and volume standards consistently, which, to date, has not been possible.
Does LÄRABAR have added vitamins, minerals or supplements?
No. We believe the best way to obtain nutrients is from whole, unprocessed, raw food--the way nature created it. All vitamins and minerals in LÄRABAR are derived exclusively from the real food used in manufacturing.
What about the protein in LÄRABAR?
Each bar contains approximately 5 grams of protein. The only way to provide more protein in a bar is to fortify it with soy, rice, or whey protein (from dairy), which requires processing.
What about the fat in LÄRABAR?
Plant-based fats are healthier than animal fats. The fat in LÄRABAR comes primarily from nuts--all plant-based fats containing Omega 3 & 6 essential fatty acids, which have been proven to reduce LDL cholesterol and help protect the heart.*
What about the carbohydrates in LÄRABAR?
The carbohydrates in LÄRABAR are good carbohydrates, derived from fruit and, ultimately, necessary for the body to function. They also contain fiber and plant phytonutrients that help the immune system. It's the processed and refined carbohydrates you should avoid--the kind found in white flour, white rice, and added sugars such as high fructose corn syrup, white sugar and grape juice.
Is LÄRABAR safe for Celiacs?

Is LÄRABAR Kosher?
