Grapenol by Douglas Labs 90 Scored Tablets
Powerful Antioxidant Support*
| Our Price: $17.60 |

Grapenol tablets, provided by Douglas Laboratories, contain 100% pure, full-spectrum grape extract made from grape seeds, skin and stems. This combination provides a concentrated source of oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC), resveratrol, and other biologically active components. Each 50 mg scored tablet is formulated to disintegrate rapidly within several minutes after ingestion for maximum bioavailability.*
This highly concentrated red grape extract (Vitis vinifera) is specially prepared to retain the natural antioxidant and biological activity of various nutritional compounds occurring in the grape seeds, skin, and stems. Using the whole grape, not just the seeds, yields a broader array of antioxidant benefits, including those of resveratrol, a powerful free radical fighter.*
FUNCTIONS Proanthocyanidins (also called leukoanthocyanidins) are a class of natural polyphenolic bioflavonoids that are very widespread in nature. They are found in many herbs, fruits and vegetables, and often are the main precursors of the blue-violet and red pigments. Proanthocyanidins are highly regarded for their strong antioxidant properties, and for their functions in supporting the body’s connective tissues and capillary blood vessel system.*
Europeans have been studying and using various forms of these natural proanthocyanidins for several decades for their numerous beneficial effects. Proanthocyanidins are among the most powerful natural free-radical scavengers yet discovered. As such, proanthocyanidins have their own unique place in the body’s overall protection against harmful free radical damage. Proanthocyanidins appear to be especially effective in neutralizing highly reactive hydroxyl and single oxygen radicals. Both of these reactive oxygen species are involved in the regulation of normal inflammatory processes. Grapenol enhances the effectiveness of vitamins C and E and can be taken together with these vitamins for added benefit.*
Proanthocyanidins also support and enhance the activity of vitamin C, and are known for their ability to help support the health of the body's capillary system and connective tissues. Proanthocyanidins have been shown to bind with collagen fibers, thereby protecting them from premature degradation. This helps maintain the natural elasticity of collagen in skin, joints, arteries, capillaries, and other connective tissues.*
In addition to proanthocyanidins, Grapenol also contains gallic acid and gallic acid esters, compounds that are known for their astringent and antioxidant (gallic acid esters) properties.*
INDICATIONS Grapenol tablets may be a useful nutritional adjunct for individuals who wish to increase their intake of natural antioxidants in the bioflavonoid family of nutrients. Grapenol can be helpful in extending the benefits of vitamin C and other dietary antioxidants. Bioflavonoids are unable to be synthesized in the body and must be obtained through dietary intake. The flavonoids in Grapenol are readily available and well-absorbed substances.*
