Greens Plus was formulated in 1990 by Sam Graci after five years of research into the health-giving benefits of the worlds most nutritious superfoods. As an adolescent psychologist in the late seventies, Sam worked with Down Syndrome children, kids diagnosed with ADD, and problematic teenagers in the Canadian Educational System. Having a keen interest in nutrition, and knowing intuitively the importance of food upon the health of individuals, Sam observed the diets of children and began experimenting with vitamin/mineral and whole food supplementation. Vice-President of Orange Peel Enterprises, Inc., Lani injured her 4th, 5th, and 6th cervical vertebrae in a diving accident in 1958. At the age of seventeen, she was diagnosed with quadriplegia and given five years to live. Determined then to beat the odds, Lani went on to continue her education, teach psychology and help others with disabilities. Due to her severe injury however, she suffered many years with poor health, a weakened immune system and an uncertain life expectancy.

In 1985, Sam prepared a green drink for Lani. She gave him suggestions for making it tastier, but the response of her immune system became his primary focus.
