What is your Female Balance supplement formulated for? Female Balance is a synergistic blend of traditional herbal remedies and nutrients that is specifically formulated to support overall well-being before the beginning of a normal menstrual cycle. Because this supplement is designed to be taken before the onset of menstrual symptoms, we do not recommend taking it during menstruation. Some women may experience an alteration in their normal menstrual rhythms after supplementing with Female Balance. This is normal, and usually indicates a re-balancing of the hormone system. We suggest waiting an additional week or two for this to run.
Does the licorice in NOW’s Menopause Support product cause high blood pressure? No. You would need to consume more than ten grams of pure licorice root per day to have a harmful effect on blood pressure, or the equivalent amount of licorice extract that concentrates the amount of glycyrrhizin to at least one gram. NOW Female Balance contains wild yam, which I have heard is an herbal contraceptive. Is this true? No. Female Balance nutritionally supports healthy female hormonal balance before the onset of menstruation, but has no contraceptive effects. Components of wild yam can only be converted to contraceptive hormones in a laboratory, not in the human body. The safety of wild yam during pregnancy and breast feeding has not been established. |
