Dong Quai Max-V, provided by Douglas Laboratories, supplies 200 mg of standardized Dong Quai extract in each vegetarian capsule.
FUNCTIONS
The rhizome of Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis) is used in Chinese traditional medicine as a uterine tonic, helping regulate the menstrual cycle. Its use to support normal muscle relaxation is thought to be due to its content of various coumarins. The root of Don Quai contains a volatile oil with ligustilide, butylene phthalide and butyl phthalide, as well as non-aromatics, including ferulic acid and various polysaccharides. This extract is standardized at 0.9% ligustilide.*
