What are Colloidal Minerals and where do they come from? Colloidal Minerals are extracted from shale deposits formed through the decomposition of prehistoric plant life. Almost all Colloidal Mineral supplements are taken from shale deposits in Utah or neighboring areas. The microscopic size of fossilized minerals taken from this area allows the human body to better utilize these elements at a cellular level. Many of the minerals contained in this supplement are greatly depleted or absent from most soil-based diets today.
