ClearDetox provides the foundation for a custom-designed detoxification program. Specifically, it supports two mechanisms in the body: (1) healthy functioning of the liver and its enzymatic detoxification systems, and (2) healthy production and flow of bile to help eliminate fat soluble toxins. ClearDetox delivers broad-spectrum nutritional support for detoxification and the maintenance of healthy liver function.*

Rice protein provides a hypoallergenic protein source that helps maintain healthy metabolic and liver function. Optimal protein nutrition enhances healthy liver enzyme function and promotes liver glutathione concentrations, supporting toxin elimination. Rice protein contains the amino acids cysteine, glutamic acid and glycine. These amino acids play key roles in phase II detoxification and also promote glutathione production.*

Reduced glutathione supports the liver’s antioxidant and phase I and phase II enzymes. Providing optimal intracellular glutathione concentrations may play a role in moderating the effects of mercury on tissues, including the kidney and brain. Research indicates a potential for the formation of a methylmercury and glutathione complex, which may help promote mercury transport out of some cells. Additional studies indicate a possible role of glutathione in promoting biliary excretion of mercury and cadmium. Glutathione levels have been found to be low in mercury-exposed workers, indicating that toxins in the body deplete glutathione levels.*

N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC) provides free radical scavenger and additional glutathione boosting properties. Several studies suggest that NAC administration to animals may help reduce mercury and cadmium accumulation in the kidneys and liver and/or moderate the effects of the metals in these tissues. NAC may achieve these actions in part by facilitating mercury removal from tissues, promoting healthy glutathione levels, or protecting tissues from peroxidation generated by heavy metals.*

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) supplies a concentrated, bioavailable source of elemental sulfur, which is an essential phase II enzyme detoxification cofactor, as well as an essential micronutrient vital for healthy tissues.*

Alpha lipoic acid supports healthy liver function by scavenging free radicals and promoting the synthesis, regeneration, and concentration of glutathione in the liver.* Studies also reveal the potential for alpha lipoic acid to facilitate the biliary excretion of inorganic mercury, as well as to moderate lead and cadmium induced oxidative stress.*

Liver support extracts combines standardized milk thistle, artichoke, turmeric, greater celandine, and barberry for synergistic support of hepatic function, bile flow, phase I and phase II liver enzymes, glutathione concentration, antioxidant activity, and hepatocellular protection.*

Pure Encapsulations ClearDetox is composed of rice protein concentrate; n-acetyl-l-cysteine (free-form); methylsulfonylmethane, synthetically derived; alpha lipoic acid (thioctic acid), synthetically derived; milk thistle (Silybum marianum) extract (standardized to contain 80% silymarin); artichoke (Cynara scolymus) leaf extract (standardized to contain 3% caffeoylquinic acids); turmeric (Curcuma longa) root extract (standardized to contain 97% curcuminoids); greater celandine (Chelidonium majus) whole plant (4:1) extract; barberry (Berberis vulgaris) bark (6:1) extract; vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate) is derived from corn dextrose fermentation and palm oil; Lo Han (Momordica grosvenori) fruit extract; Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) leaf. ClearDetox does not contain artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners or added sugars.

CONTAINDICATIONS
Berberine-containing herbs, such as barberry (Berberis vulgaris) should not be taken simultaneously with tetracycline antibiotics, as it may compromise their absorption. Consult your physician for more information.

Suggested Use

As a dietary supplement, one (1) scoop one to two (1-2) times daily in eight (8) ounces of water, milk, or juice, or more as directed by your healthcare practitioner. Shake, stir, or blend until smooth.

Warnings

This product is not recommended for individuals with gallstones/bile passage problems. Individuals sensitive to artichokes/the daisy family should avoid this product. Greater celandine should be avoided or used cautiously by people with hepatitis or impaired liver function. In rare cases, alpha lipoic acid may cause skin rash and the potential of hypoglycemia in diabetic patients. Not for use by infants, children, or pregnant/lactating women. Do not use if seal is missing. Store in a dry place.
