Tests on athletes in training have shown chromium picolinate to increase lean body mass and decrease body fat. As an active ingredient in GTF (glucose tolerance factor), it enhances the effects of insulin to insure its efficient use. In addition to regulating blood sugar, insulin facilitates the entrance of other carbohydrates and amino acids through cell membranes and influences blood levels of other hormones.
