The unique cassava source makes Buffered Vitamin C Cassava root source well-tolerated by individuals unable to tolerate other sources of vitamin C.* The product has exactly the same formula as the corn source buffered vitamin C (SKU:70000-arg), and contains ascorbic acid and carbonates of calcium, magnesium and potassium, giving it an acid-alkaline buffering action (pH 7.0 in water) potentially improving bowel tolerance and minimizing hyperacidity.* Cassava, or Manihot esculenta, is a bushy herb or shrub from South America with long tuberous edible roots very rich in starch. The roots are used as potatoes. Starch obtained from cassava roots is a starting material for a multiple-step chemical process of manufacturing of ascorbic acid.
