Bilberry Extract is rich in Vitamin C.  The anthocyanidins are responsible for the major action of Bilberry.  Among them, we find a Vitamin P action.  It is known that Vitamin P does not correspond to a chemically defined vitamin, but is a group of properties which provide vascular, capillary and venous protection.*

This protection acts on two levels; it increases the capillary resistance and decreases the capillary permeability.  Bilberry berries are rich in carbohydrates, tannin, and Vitamin A and C.  Bilberry is an astringent and has antibacterial action on the intestines.*
