Ascorbyl Palmitate is a highly bioavailable, fat-soluble derivative of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Vitamin C, one of the most potent dietary antioxidants, provides optimal nutritional support to all physiological functions, including, notably, vascular and capillary integrity in support of the circulatory system.* Ascorbyl Palmitate possesses all the benefits of vitamin C, but, unlike the water-soluble form, it is able to be stored in the lipid cell membrane until the body is ready to put it to use. Vitamin C offers a wide range of support for the human body. It is a potent antioxidant and free radical scavenger that supports cellular and vascular health. Vitamin C has been reported to promote nitric oxide activity, as well as the maintenance of healthy platelet function. World Organic was formed in 1969 by Dr. Al Licata and his brother, Vince. Al Licata was born, raised and educated in Italy, and immigrated to the United States in his early twenties. Upon arriving in America, he took any job he could find until he had saved enough capital to start his own health food store in San Pedro in 1959. Dr. Licata began to develop and produce chlorophyll products to be sold under his private label in his stores. Today, these custom products have become the backbone of World Organic Corp. As popularity for his special formulations grew, he began to sell them to other stores until he was distributing nationwide.
Although the retail stores are now long gone, World Organic has continued to gain preeminence in the marketing and production of chlorophyll and related products. World Organic specializes in chlorophyll and green foods, liquid supplements, silica, and other specialty formulas. It has grown to be the premier supplier of chlorophyll in the health food industry. Its liquid supplement formulas were some of the earliest developed and its liquid line is among the broadest available.
Well into his 80's, Al Licata Ph.D. is still active in product development and as chairman of the firm. The day-to-day operations, however, are now handled by Licata's son, Paul Licata. Under Paul's direction the product line has grown considerably, while still remaining focused on quality products. Through the years, Dr. Al Licata has expanded into many varied ventures, but his faith and the love of his family have been the constants that have kept him content. |
