1. Is Arthred made from animals injected with hormones?
Arthred is produced in Germany, and German Federal regulations prohibit the use of growth hormones in German grown beef, as well as in the importation of beef or beef products. Additionally, the material is produced to pharmaceutical standards of purity, which guarantees that no growth hormone, pathogens or other toxins would be left in the material after processing, even if they were initially present in the animal.
2. Is it possible that the animals used in Arthred are infected with mad cow disease?
No animals with mad cow disease are ever used in the manufacture of Arthred™. Because of the tainted reputation of mad cow disease among British cattle. and the heavy use of growth hormones, antibiotics and other medications in U.S. beef, Germany does not allow the importation of beef and beef products from the United Kingdom (England) or the U.S. Also, the pharmaceutical process by which collagen is processed into Arthred™ eliminates mad cow prions or other pathogens in the finished Arthred™ material. Essentially there is no practical or theoretical possibility of prion contamination or contracting BSE from this product. |
