American Ginseng is a relative to the Asian variety, Korean Ginseng. Both varieties are considered true Panax Ginseng types. American Ginseng, also known as Panax quinquefolium, is considered to be an adaptogenic herb, and well regarded for its invigorating and energizing properties.* It was first introduced to early American settlers by Native Americans, and eventually became a major export to the Far East.
Supplementally, ginseng has traditionally been used to assist the body in adapting to physical and emotional stress.
