Active Liquid Skin Lotion is an effective, all natural formula which combines a unique herbal extract (CellQuest) from the musaceas plant with Aloe Vera, Allantoin, Lavender, and Menthol to nourish, hydrate, protect, and promote healthy skin. Active Liquid Skin Care may be helpful in the treatment of acne, sunburn, radiation burns, chapped skin, dry skin, insect bites, psoriasis, rosacea, aging skin, and herpes.*

CellQuest
is an advanced herbal extract which has been bio-botanically cultivated to create numerous immune phytochemicals. These include the following:
  • Phytoalexins - Similar to anti-viral proteins*
  • Polypeptides - Amino acids that help stimulate collagen synthesis*
  • Sterols - Anti-inflamatory agents*
  • Sterolins - Support cellular health*
  • Terpenoids - Anti-bacterial agents*
Aloe Vera has been used for centuries to promote healthy skin. Its use can be traced back as far as 6,000 years ago to early Egypt. It is known as a contact healer because it stimulates healing in the affected area upon contact. It has been used to treat poison ivy, chicken pox, and burns. It is also used to treat aging skin because it helps to remove dead skin and promote the growth of healthy living cells. Because it can rapidly penetrate all 3 layers of the skin, the soothing and healing process is quicker, allowing wounds and burns to heal faster.

Allantoin is derived from the Comfrey herb and is a valuable cell-proliferating, healing agent which stimulates healthy tissue formation. Allantoin has a pronounced skin softening action, and it acts as chemical debrider of necrotic and scaling tissue, cleaning up the areas where it is applied. It is used for skin ulcers, wounds, scalds, burns and sunburns. It is also used for acne and skin eruptions, fissures, abrasions, impetigo, eczema, and psoriasis.*

Menthol
, which is obtained from peppermint and other mint herbs, has local anesthetic and counter irritant qualities. It is used topically to relieve skin irritation,  and it is antipruritic with a cooling effect to relieve itching.*

A Brief History Of The Musa Plant

WHAT IS THE MEDICINAL HISTORY OF THE MUSA PLANT?

The musa plant and its parts have been prescribed in folk medicine for a wide variety of health issues, mainly in tropical countries.

Central America
The Aztec Indians used the musa plant to:

1. Reduce congestion and provide relief during asthmatic attacks.*
2. Attack bacteria associated with tuberculosis.*
3. Relieve and improve gastro-intestinal disorders.*
4. Treat urinary infections.*
5. Calm the nervous system.*

India
The Hindu have for centuries referred to the plantain plant as ‘Kadall’ - representing Eternal Knowledge! The tree is worshiped during certain times of the year and its fruit, leaves and stems are all said to have pure nutritional and medicinal values for healing wounds and ulcers.*

The banana is nick-named "kalpatharu" in India, since all its parts have many uses for the health of human beings. In particular, the pseudostem (found in this immune support extract) is used for ulcer relief, cholera, jaundice, asthma, kidney stones and nervous disorders. The leaves are used for eye diseases, wounds and cuts. The flower reduces heavy bleeding during menstruation, diabetes and earache. The fruit is used for diarrhea, indigestion and accumulation of acid in the body.*

South America
In Suriname, the plant and its parts are used to fight bacteria and for the treatment of diarrhea, dysentery, migraines, hypertension, asthma and jaundice.*

The therapeutic effect of musa fruit is well established in folk medicine, particularly in regard to the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery, as well as the healing of intestinal lesions in colitis. The plantain has been recognized as an astringent, demulcent, emollient, cooling, vulnerary, expectorant, anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-toxin and as a diuretic.*

The Lancet publication of June 10, 1916 reported that a government official was cured of a venomous snake bite after both ingesting the plantain stem juice and also applying it to the wound. Traditionally, musa plants have been used to lower blood sugar and as a mouthwash to treat sores and toothache. Plantain teas were made from the leaves and used to treat lung disorders and stomach problems.*

WHAT OTHER MEDICAL CONDITIONS DOES THE MUSA PLANT HELP?

Chemotherapy
The compounds in the extract of the plantain sap may protect the gastrointestinal lining from physical trauma, such as that induced by chemotherapy. in a Russian study, thesap prevented the acute toxic effects of chemotherapy on the intestines of mice.*

Many users of the Active Immune Support extract have reported a positive complementary effect as a result of taking the extract while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapies. Ingredients in the Active Immune Support extract have been researched to show a calming and normalizing effect on the GI tract. Certain phytoalexins of the musa plant stem have been studied to show inhibitory activity on the growth of bacteria and fungus.*

The Active Immune Support extract is a natural product and is not fortified with any concentrated levels of antioxidants or other extracted compounds that may conflict with chemotherapy treatments.*

Gastro-Intestinal: Ulcers, IBS, Colitis & Crohn's Disease
Ingredients in the Active Immune Support extract have been researched to show a calming and normalizing effect on the GI tract. Studies have been conducted in both India and the UK, which support the role of parts of the musa plant to assist in proper GI function.*

The effects of Musa Paradisiaca have been studied in relation to Gastric mucosal shedding. These studies have shown that the musa treatment increased the gastric mucosal resistance and showed a decrease in gastric juice DNA, which served as an index of the rate of mucosal shedding. Increased cellular mucus may be a factor for increased mucosal resistance. In conclusion, the results of the present study tend to confirm that the musa plant strengthens mucosal resistance and promotes the healing of ulcers.*

Furthermore, the antiulcerogenic activity of the unripe plantain was found to be antiulcerogenic against aspirin induced ulcers in laboratory rats. It was also effective as a prophylactic treatment and in healing ulcers already induced by aspirin.*

Additionally, certain phytoalexins of the musa plant stem have been studied in Spain to show inhibitory activity on the growth of bacteria and fungus.*

Urological
Kidney stones (renal calculi) are basically an accumulation of mineral salts that crystallize and can lodge anywhere along the urinary tract. These stones can be very painful. Normally, the substances that make up the stones remain in solution and are passed daily in a person's urine. However, often in cases of a depressed immune system or if the pH of the urine becomes unbalanced, then crystallization can occur and stones may develop.*

An estimated 10% of Americans are expected to develop kidney stones some time in their lives. Kidney stones are ten times as common today as they were at the turn of the century. A prevalent theory for the rise in this country is due to the increased levels of consumed animal protein versus plant protein in the average American diet.*

The juice of the stem of the musa plant was found to be effective in the prevention of, and in reducing the formation of, kidney stones.*

Benign Prostatic Hypertophy (BHP)
Two randomized clinical studies conducted on groups of men diagnosed with BHP and treated with betasitosterol over a six month trial showed significant improvement in subjective symptoms. The effectiveness of traditional herbal remedies for prostate health may be due to their sterol contents.*

Anti-Inflammatory
Plant sterols given to rats demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects not unlike cortisone. They are capable of reducing the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines. Animal research indicated antipyretic effects of phytosterols equivalent to that of aspirin.*

Blood Sugar Control
An animal study including both normal and hyperglycemic rats indicated sugar control benefits. Theoretically, phytosterols may increase insulin levels by stimulation of insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells.*

Active Immune Support & Fitness
It has been observed by some immunologists and sports medicine doctors that marathon runners are prone to colds and flu infections following stressful runs. They believe that the immune system is inhibited by the secretion of cortisol and the increased release of proinflammatory factors (due to tissue damage). Sterols/sterolins have been indicated to reverse these effects and help prevent post-marathon infections.*

Active Liquid Minerals And The Western Dilemma

In Western Medicine, we treat disease with single molecules derived either synthetically or from naturally occurring sources. After decades of this, we have learned to our chagrin that there is a downside to such treatment. The short-term benefits of the single molecule approach to medication are rapidly eroding through adaptation of mutating pathogens and increasingly unpredictable drug interactions. Furthermore, situations associated with prescription drugs are the third leading cause of death in the United States.*

The scientific realization that single molecules might be disruptive in a natural system of interdependent multi-component chemistry is gaining momentum among conscientious researchers. Additionally, the healthy functioning of organs such as the liver and kidneys may depend upon encountering molecular concentrations of digestible substances within adaptable limits. It may well be that organ stress relates to the susceptibility of disease.*

The future of safe and reliable medicines will depend upon a scientific regression to past botanical therapies. Regulatory resistance to the clinical testing of multi-component candidate drugs as distinct from single molecule drugs is loosening up. The term “drug” is a confusing and complex one, since it refers to all substances used or intended for use in the treatment of disease. Should someone claim that cherries cure rheumatoid arthritis and sell them for that purpose, then those cherries are categorized as “illegal drugs” until such time as the FDA approves their use in that regard. Ironically, illegal drugs include all unapproved substances from soup to nuts where the provider claims to treat any disease by that means. Our hypothetical cherries would be classified alongside cocaine and heroin and their sale subject to criminal prosecution.*

Our internal organs are designed for or have adapted to the processing of food and oxygen. Synthetic medicines enter our bodies in the guise of food. Any deviation from the form or substance of natural food might be expected to cause some degree of stress in the organs involved. Logically, it can be assumed that the more a specific medication resembles normal food, the more efficient should be its processing. Should the single molecules encountered in synthetic and natural source-derived drugs be found in whole foods alongside many other multi-components, then the resulting bio-processing might be more efficient and less stressful.*

CellQuest is leading the necessary transition from single molecule medicines to the multi-component system. The Musa plants cultivated in the Dominican Republic by CellQuest are ideal for this purpose and are organically farmed using natural elicitors and bio-botanical techniques to ensure consistent phytochemical composition in the end product. The proprietary process involves the minimization of diurnal circadian variations in plant chemistry. The transition to botanical therapies will be the way of the future and key to safe and efficacious health products. Western Medicine objections to the dedicated use of plants and herbs, related to significant variations in plant composition and consistency, will be overcome by diligent scientific efforts.*

The Basic Science And Education Of Nutritional And Dietary Minerals

The Basic Minerals are grouped into two categories: essential minerals and trace minerals. Essential minerals, such as calcium, chloride, potassium, sodium, sulfur, phosphorus and magnesium, are needed by the body in larger amounts. The trace minerals, for example: chromium, cobalt, copper, chloride, iodine, iron, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, zinc, are needed in small quantities.

Three basic classifications of minerals exist: Metallic minerals, Chelated minerals and Colloidal minerals.

Metallic minerals are those found in their elemental form. The primary disadvantage of metallic minerals is that their degree of absorption or availability to be utilized the body, is the least of the three forms

Chelated minerals are those metallic minerals that are surrounded by an amino acid. This helps to solubilize the mineral, making it more available for the body to use. An example is the chelated mineral chromium picolinate; it is chromium chelated with picolinic acid.

Colloidal minerals are those that occur in nature in the colloidal state. They are small particles that can easily be dispersed in a medium such as water. Due to the small particle size, there is an increase in the surface area giving them greater exposure to the liquid in which they are carried. This results in greater absorption or usefulness to the body.

There has been much discussion, as well as some confusion, in regards to colloidal versus ionic minerals. By definition, colloidal describes the size of a particle that neither floats nor sinks in water. The smaller the particle, the greater its relative surface area, making the mineral more readily available to be acted upon, broken down and absorbed by the body.

All minerals are Colloidal, no matter what form. Ionic simply refers to something that has electrical charge. All matter carries an electrical charge, either positive or negative, enabling the materials to 'stick' together.

Research shows that the soil in which plants are grown and on which animals are raised is so depleted in essential nutrients, we simply cannot eat enough volume of food to meet nutritional needs, much less overcome past, accumulated deficiencies. Our diets most often consist of too many processed and junk foods. For this reason alone, a multi-mineral formula is essential to 'put back' all we are no longer receiving from the foods we eat today.

A deficiency, or depletion, of a mineral in your diet can relate to a less-than-optimal state of well-being. There are complex interactions among vitamins and minerals, and a deficiency or excess of one affects the others. Those most at risk of a nutritional deficiency are: children, pregnant women, teenage girls, the elderly, chronically ill and vegetarians.

Some of the more common deficiencies would include:
• Iron - causing anemia; low red blood cell count*
Calcium - affecting bone density and may lead to osteoporosis*
Iodine - cause is larger than the thyroid gland, a condition called goiter*
Magnesium - causes muscle spasms, weakness and irregular heartbeat*
Potassium - causes weakness, fatigue, loss of appetite and insomnia*
Zinc - causes poor wound healing; increases susceptibility to infection and loss of taste*
Molybdenum - causes reduced Neurologic communication along the neural pathways and through connective tissues*
Selenium - heightens the potential for lipid aggregation in the bloodstream*
Germanium - required for core vitality and full production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP)*

Every living cell on this planet depends on minerals. Like vitamins, minerals function as coenzymes. Our minerals come from the earth. If the mineral retreat is not contained in the soil, it will not be in the food grown there and thus will not be provided to us when we eat that food. As well, the natural geographic distribution of minerals, loss of topsoil, the use of certain fertilizers, and continuous cropping and farming all contribute to mineral scarcity in the world's soils. Further, consider the refining and processing of modern 'foods' and it is understandable why we do not receive a full spectrum of minerals, yet doing so is crucial.

The Man Behind The Minerals

The Name Colloidal Minerals Was First Used By The Pioneer Thomas Jefferson Clark To Describe A Mineral Deposit That He Discovered...Back in 1920!

Thomas Jefferson Clark discovered a unique deposit of minerals in a pre-historic valley in Utah that were believed to be the remains of an ancient rain forest. Geologists say the rain forest was rapidly buried 60-120 million years ago, by rising flood waters.

Sand, clay & silt had shielded the plants with an impervious barrier that protected them from the elements.

Clark believed he had found the source of a legend that was thousands of years old. Indians who befriended him, had told him of a "sacred spring", with great healing powers, that had dried up 100-200 years earlier.

Many years of hard life as a rancher had taken its toll and Clark's health began to fail. No longer able to remain in the saddle or maintain his ranch, Clark was desperate for a cure. Plagued with severe fatigue, abdominal pain and a major loss of appetite, he had been reduced to 97 pounds. The nearest doctor was a day and a half's ride away and Clark was not expected to survive.

In desperation he devised a method to "leach" the minerals from the ore samples he had collected, using purified water. He began to drink his formulation and finally regained his health.

Word spread about Clark's recovery and people flocked to get his amazing mineral. In 1926, he began to sell his "colloidal minerals".

In 1953, Thomas Jefferson Clark began to train his son Thomas Jay Clark to assist him in further research and development. Nearly a century has passed since it's discovery and countless thousands the world over continue to enjoy the health benefits of these liquid minerals. Now available are Active Liquid Minerals , Active Liquid Vitamins, Active Liquid Calcium and Active Liquid Immune Support.

Most people don't know that Clark was a rancher and heavily involved with horses and mules. Clark used to supply the army with mules and unknown to many, he was one of the horse trainers for the legendary "Seabiscuit". When "Seabiscuit" went lame he applied a compress to the legs and kept them moist with the minerals that he had discovered in Utah. The rest is history...

The Importance Of Minerals And Vitamins

Some Points To Consider:
Due to soil depletion and food processing we are not getting the minerals from our food like we did 50-100 years ago.

Vitamins are required for every biochemical activity of the body, but they can't function without the presence of minerals. All nutrients such as vitamins, proteins, enzymes, amino acids, carbohydrates, fats, sugars, oils, etc, require minerals for activity.

All bodily processes depend on the action and interaction of minerals.

The body must maintain an adequate supply of minerals to maintain its balance between internal and external pressures (called osmotic equilibrium) of the body cells. This state must be maintained for normal cellular function and continued youthful health. (Did we not come from minerals?)

Plant-derived minerals are a more important supplement than vitamins because vitamins can be synthesized by living matter, but minerals cannot!

Minerals are the catalysts that make enzyme functions possible. They are also essential for antioxidant-enzyme function. Plant-derived minerals combined with enzymes make an alkaline detoxifying agent which neutralizes the acid metabolic byproducts of the cells and other toxic conditions within the body and prepares them for elimination.

Hormonal secretions of the glands are dependent on mineral stimulation and the acid-alkaline balance (ph) of the tissue fluid is controlled by minerals.

All body elements function synergistically. If there is just one mineral shortage, the balance of the entire body can be thrown off. One deficiency can render other nutrients either useless or inefficient.

Minerals are justified as a supplement to the everyday diet when you consider that many of the fruits and vegetables that are harvested today, continue to be grown in mineral deficient soils encouraged only by the use of petrochemicals and synthetic fertilizers.

Minerals are important to many parts of the body. They are an important part of the bones. They maintain the body's fluid balance. They are parts of other important compounds, such as iron in blood, and iodine, which is a part of the thyroid hormone.

The mineral content of certain foods is influenced by the mineral content of the soil in which the foods are grown.

There are 7 major/minor minerals and many trace minerals. The most commonly known ones are listed below:

Major/Minor Minerals
Calcium
Phosphorous
Potassium
Sulphur
Sodium
Chloride

Cobalt Ultra Trace Minerals
Nickel
Arsenic
Silicon
Boron
Magnesium Trace Minerals
Chromium
Iron
Selenium
Fluoride
Zinc
Copper
Iodine
Manganese
Molybdenum

Basic Mineral Functions:

Calcium is essential for the formation ofbones and teeth and requirements are greater during adolescence and later adult years. Calcium is very important from a public health perspective because inadequate intake of calcium may increase the risk of osteoporosis, a condition in which decreased bone mass weakens bone.*

Magnesium
is also important in building bones and is used in manufacturing proteins, releasing energy from Muscle storage, and regulating body temperature.*

Iron is found in all body cells. As a component of hemoglobin in the blood and myoglobin in the muscles, iron carries oxygen. Iron deficiency anemia is the most common nutritional deficiency in the United States. Infants, adolescents, and women of childbearing age are the most at risk for developing anemia. Their greater need for iron, due to rapid growth or excessive blood loss during menstruation, usually cannot be met by dietary intake alone.*

Zinc plays an important role in wound healing, blood formation and general growth and maintenance of tissues. As a component of enzymes, it is involved in most metabolic processes.*

Potassium assists in muscle contraction and electrolyte balance in body cells. It is needed to send nerve impulses and to release energy from protein, fat, and carbohydrates.*

Copper is necessary for the formation of hemoglobin and also keeps bones, blood vessels, and nerves healthy.*

Sodium is important in electrolyte balance and also in regulation of the body's blood pressure.*

Selenium has antioxidant properties and like vitamin E, protects cells from oxidative damage.*

All Natural
Would you sooner eat an apple that's been picked fresh from the tree or eat a man-made synthesized version from a laboratory?

For thousands of years our body has only processed natural forms of vitamins and it knows how to handle them. It has difficulty absorbing man-made synthetic vitamins because the molecular structure is different and this affects what happens at the cellular level.

Most Vitamin E used in supplements is synthetic. Active Liquid Vitamins uses natural vitamin E which begins with a d, whereas synthetic vitamin E starts with a dl. If the formulation just lists vitamin E or If they say dl-alpha-tocopherol, dl-alpha-tocopherol acetate, or dl alpha-tocopherol-acid succinate, then they are synthetic and you may reconsider using them.

While most brands use mostly synthetic man-made vitamins, Active Liquid Vitamins is formulated with only natural and ‘body ready’ forms of vitamins to deliver maximum potency.

Your supplements should be as 'natural' as possible for better absorption and nutritional potency. Man made synthetic vitamins do not deliver the nutritional potency of those made by Mother Nature.

• Can plants flourish in depleted soil...If they can, then how healthy are they going to be?

• If we eat plants grown in depleted soil...how healthy are we going to be?

• There is a great emphasis on the importance of vitamins these days but not many people realize how invaluable minerals are.

There is a synergy between plants, animals & humans and it all evolves around the minerals on our planet.

We came from the earth, we eat from the earth and we all return to the earth.  We all rely on minerals and without a sufficient quantity of the right minerals we can suffer.
Mineral Deficiency
Dr. Linus Pauling...winner of 2 Noble Prizes, stated: "You can trace every sickness, every disease and every ailment to a mineral deficiency"

"All nutrients such as vitamins, proteins, enzymes, amino acids, carbohydrates, fats, sugars, oils, etc, require minerals for activity. Therefore vitamins and minerals should be taken separately".

"As the day dawns and we awake from our sleep, our brain needs certain chemicals to prepare the body for its daily tasks".

"Minerals are an important supplement needed to activate vitamins, proteins, enzymes, fat and carbohydrates to keep the body healthy".

"Supplementing with minerals becomes even more important as the demand for food increases and our soil and plants become more and more depleted in vital minerals. The level of minerals found even in organic fruits and vegetables is less than it was ten years ago".

"It is logical that chronic degenerative diseases have also increased, and it is concerning that not only are there more people suffering with diabetes, osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, etc, but that they are getting diagnosed with these types of diseases at a younger age".

"Organic minerals are easily supplemented in our diets and should be taken first thing in the morning as a liquid added to water or fruit juice. This prepares the body to maximize the amount of food and vitamins absorbed into your cells, and vitalizes you at the start of your day".

"After taking your minerals do 15 minutes of exercise and then eat a healthy breakfast. This simple morning ritual is an important part of getting your cells activated. Taking your vitamins and protein supplements with breakfast will quickly make you feel re-vitalized for a great day".

Quoted by Dr. M. Marin DC, QME,  a dedicated Doctor who has spent many years helping people with 'Alternative' methods of healing through research and understanding of her patients needs.
The Truth About Liquid Vitamins And Minerals
WANT A MAGIC One-A-Day PILL?

SADLY IT DOESN'T EXIST........................WHY?
1. Everyone is different
2. You could be allergic to just one ingredient
3. You could personally be overdosing on vitamins
4. It contains too many 'synthetic' ingredients/fillers & additives
5. It is poorly absorbed
Do you think your body will absorb this tablet...It has been soaking for 8 hours!

LIQUID VITAMINS HAVE A VERY HIGH ABSORPTION RATE AND ARE BIO-AVAILABLE.

Natural vitamins in a liquid form means that a smaller amount of ingredients are able to achieve the same results
as larger 'Synthetic' doses. Unlike tablets and capsules they don't require binders to keep them together, disintegrators to help breakup or artificial colors / flavors / sweeteners or wax coating materials.

You can do a simple test to see if your tablets / capsules are being absorbed. Soak one of your tablets/capsules in a small container of vinegar. It should start to dissolve within 30 minutes.

WHY DOES ACTIVE WELLNESS NOT COMBINE THEIR MINERALS AND VITAMINS?
All nutrients such as vitamins, proteins, enzymes, amino acids, carbohydrates, fats, sugars, oils, etc, require minerals for activity. Therefore vitamins and minerals should be taken separately. (We suggest that you take your minerals first thing in the morning and your vitamins at least 30 minutes later). Mixing minerals with vitamins reduces the potency of the vitamins by approximately 25%. Also everyone is different...some need more minerals than vitamins and others vice versa!

BALANCE AND MODERATION
Did you know that too much Calcium depletes Magnesium? Did you know that too much Vitamin C depletes Copper? And the list goes on!

Many companies are now fortifying their food products with vitamins and minerals. Because everyone eats differently, you could inadvertently be overdosing with supplements. Excessive amounts of the ‘Fat-Soluble’ vitamins A, D, E & K (named because they require fat for absorption and are stored in fatty tissue) can be dangerous, that is why many healthcare professionals recommend that you obtain medical advice before using high quantities.

You won’t see mega doses of vitamins because everyone is different. We all consume different food, have different metabolisms, different genes, different life styles and are different in size and weight. What may be the right dosage for one person may not be good for another.

The answer is NOT mega doses of vitamins, but smaller quantities that are used more efficiently. We achieve this by using natural vitamins in a highly absorbent liquid form. To this end, Active Liquid Vitamins uses the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) as a basis for moderation and balance. This is the foundation for a daily ‘maintenance’ dose which can be increased as the need arises.

This flexible and balanced approach helps more people to control their daily nutritional needs without overdosing on vitamins and jeopardizing their health!

Magnesium - The Missing Nutrient

Magnesium is important for every organ in the body, particularly the heart, muscles, and kidneys. It also contributes to the composition of teeth and bones. Most importantly, it activates enzymes, contributes to energy production, and helps regulate calcium levels as well as copper, zinc, potassium, vitamin D, and other important nutrients in the body.*

Without enough magnesium, calcium can collect in the soft tissues and cause one type of arthritis. Not only does calcium collect in the soft tissues of arthritics, it is poorly, if at all, absorbed into their blood and bones. But taking more calcium is not the answer; it only amplifies the problem.*

Magnesium taken in proper dosages can solve the problem of calcium deficiency. Magnesium is available in many foods. However, most people in the United States probably do not get as much magnesium as they should from their diet. Symptoms of magnesium deficiency may include agitation and anxiety, irritability, nausea and vomiting, abnormal heart rhythms, confusion, muscle spasm and weakness.*

Osteoporosis
Calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, and other micronutrient deficiencies are believed to play a role in the development of osteoporosis. Adequate intake of calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D coupled with overall proper nutrition and weight-bearing exercise throughout childhood and adulthood are the primary preventive measures for this condition, in both men and women.*

Calcium Research

Active Liquid Calcium: Calcium, Magnesium and Vitamin D combined for maximum absorption and maintenance of healthy bones.*

Dr Betty Kamen Ph.D - " CALCIUM ALONE DOES NOT PREVENT OSTEOPOROSIS"
"A report in the American Journal of Medicine suggests that the reason you are absorbing LESS calcium when consuming MORE is to shield you from toxicity. Too much calcium, in the absence of its metabolic co-factors, is regarded as TOXIC".

"Multivitamin/mineral supplements with an additional vitamin C, plus a small-dose of calcium/magnesium makes the most sense. Vitamin D3, chromium, silicon and boron are beneficial additions."

Active Liquid Wellness' Philosophy: Absorption - Balance - Moderation

A study by Dr Guy Abraham showed the ratio of 1.2 to 1 of Magnesium over Calcium improved bone density by 11%. It showed LESS is better than MORE when taken with the correct ingredients.

Magnesium, Vitamin D and other essential nutrients are vitally important to control calcium.* These nutrients are the key to maximum calcium utilization. Without these vital nutrients, you could be overdosing on calcium. When calcium alone is taken in a high dosage, calcium absorption actually decreases. This is an example of your body’s control mechanism protecting you from toxicity.*

DR. GUY ABRAHAM STUDY- "The Importance Of Magnesium"

The results of the study suggest that 500 mg of Calcium & 600 mg of Magnesium has a significant effect on reversing postmenopausal bone loss within a relatively short period of time. The effect of this Magnesium-empthasized program on bone density was 16 times greater than that of dietary advice alone.

THE HARVARD NURSES STUDY - Harvard Medical School 1980-1992

The Harvard Nurses Study was an investigation into osteoporosis and bone loss in women. From 1980 to 1992 the study followed 77,761 women between ages 34 and 59 to determine the relationship between milk consumption and osteoporosis. It showed that the more milk we drink, the more bone we lose.*

Dr. Betty Kamen Ph.D - "STARTLING NEW FACTS ABOUT OSTEOPOROSIS"

"We tear down our skeleton and build it back about once every 5 years. The fact that calcium absorption decreases with additional calcium intake is an example of your body's control mechanism for protection".

The Milk Dilemma:

"Americans drink more milk than the people of any other nation. Yet we have the highest incidence of bone problems."

"Milk, because it is so rich in animal protein, often causes a greater calcium loss than gain - referred to as negative calcium balance. This fact may come as a surprise, even to the professionals, who have been conditioned to believe that cow's milk is a 'perfect' food and a major source of calcium. Cow's milk is perfect food - for a calf!"

"Animals do not consume milk after weaning, nor do they ever consume the milk of another species. Note that cows eat only grass, yet they build tremendous bone structures."

"Women who develop osteoporosis have been shown to have a greater degree of lactose intolerance than those who do not."

"Almost all foods which contain lactose are processed, hard to digest and generally do not enhance immune capacity or bone health. And that includes milk! (It has even been shown that lactose increases cholesterol*).

Health And Active Immune Support

The Immune System is the "Homeland Defense’ against foreign attack of living organisms.

IMMUNE SYSTEM DISORDERS:
Immune system disorders occur when the immune response is inappropriate, excessive, or lacking and starts to destroy normal body tissues. Active Immune Support, ability to stimulate and modulate the immune system may be effective with many ‘Autoimmune Disorders.

Active Immune Support extract contains sterols and sterolins which may modulate the function of T-cells. They are the white blood cells that attack viruses and bacteria living inside cells.*

Antioxidants feature largely in the immune system to protect cells from the ravages of free radicals while other compounds function as regulators. Regulation involves stimulation when required through the production of a wide range of cytokines. Some compounds both stimulate and support the immune system.*

Active Immune Support is designed to help this regulation with natural ingredients including polyphenols, polysaccarides, metabolites and plant sterols used to assist in the normalization and regulation process as well as to support the immune system.*

The power of Active Immune Support is that it is herbal, including the stems stalks & the roots of the musa (Plantain) plant. The end result is a formula that helps to stimulate and modulate the immune system.

WHAT IS THE MEDICINAL HISTORY OF THE MUSA PLANT?

The flower reduces heavy bleeding during menstruation, diabetes and earache, The fruit is used for diarrhea, indigestion and accumulation of acid in the body.

South America
In Suriname, the plant and its parts are used to fight bacteria and for the treatment of diarrhea, dysentery, migraines, hypertension, asthmaand jaundice.

The therapeutic effect of musa fruit is well established in folk medicine, particularly in regard to the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery, as well as the healing of intestinal lesions in colitis. The plantain has been recognized as an astringent, demulcent, emollient, cooling, vulnerary, expectorant, anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-toxin and as a diuretic.

The Lancet publication of June 10, 1916 reported that a government official was cured of a venomous snake bite after both ingesting the plantain stem juice and also applying it to the wound. Traditionally, musa plants have been used to lower blood sugar and as a mouthwash to treat sores and toothache. Plantain teas were made from the leaves and used to treat lung disorders and stomach problems.

WHAT OTHER MEDICAL CONDITIONS DOES THE MUSA PLANT HELP?

Chemotherapy
The compounds in the extract of the plantain sap (Active Immune Support ingredients) may protect the gastrointestinal lining from physical trauma, such as that induced by chemotherapy.* in a Russian study, the sap prevented the acute toxic effects of chemotherapy on the intestines of mice.

Many users of the Active Immune Support extract have reported a positive complementary effect as a result of taking the extract while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapies. Ingredients in the Active Immune Support extract have been researched to show a calming and normalizing effect on the GI tract.* Certain phytoalexins of the musa plant stem have been studied to show inhibitory activity on the growth of bacteria and fungus.*

The Active Immune Support extract is a natural product and is not fortified with any concentrated levels of antioxidants or other extracted compounds that may conflict with chemotherapy treatments.

Gastro-Intestinal
Ulcers, IBS, Colitis & Crohn's disease
Ingredients in the ActiveImmune Support extract have been researched to show a calming and normalizing affect on the G I tract. Studies have been conducted in both India and the UK, which support the role of parts of the musa plant to assist in proper GI function.*

The effects of Musa Paradisiaca (a component of Active Immune Support) have been studied in relation to Gastric mucosal shedding. These studies have shown that the musa treatment increased the gastric mucosal resistance and showed a decrease in gastric juice DNA, which was measured to serve as an index of the rate of mucosal shedding. increased cellular mucus may be a factor for increased mucosal resistance.

However, often in cases of a depressed immune system or if the pH of the urine becomes out of balance, then crystallization can occur and stones may develop.*

An estimated 10% of Americans are expected to develop kidney stones some time in their lives. Kidney stones are ten times as common today as they were at the turn of the century. A prevalent theory for the rise in this country is due to the increased levels of consumed animal protein versus plant protein in the average American diet.

The juice of the stem of the musa plant (the ingredients in Active Immune Support) was found to be effective in 'reducing the formation and prevention of kidney stones.*

Benign Prostatic Hypertophy (BHP)
Two randomized clinical studies conducted on groups of men diagnosed with BHP and treated with betasitosterol over a six month trial, showed significant improvement in subjective symptoms.

It has been observed by some immunologists and sports medicine doctors that marathon runners are prone to colds and flu infections, following stressful runs. They believe that the immune system is inhibited by the secretion of cortisol and the increased release of proinflammatory factors (due to tissue damage). Sterols/sterolins have been indicated to reverse these effects and help prevent post-marathon infections.*

Minerals And Active Immune Support

Over 74 of the famous Thomas Jefferson Clark ionic minerals have been added to the musa plant extract to increase its potency.. Since 1926, these minerals have been used worldwide to help combat mineral deficiency.

Calcium
The most common mineral in the human body. Calcium functions in blood clotting, muscle contraction, the nervous system and bone and tooth formation. Calcium may also reduce your risk of colon cancer and assist in weight control.*

Manganese
Manganese is an essential trace element. The body contains 10 to 20 milligrams distributed throughout human tissues. It is found in high concentration in the mitochondria of cells. It is an important component of many enzyme systems involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Together with choline, manganese assists in the digestion burning of fats. It nourishes nerves and helps with proper functioning between the brain, nerves and muscles. Manganese deficiency results in abnormal skeletal development and is needed for the healthy formation of cartilage and bone. Manganese-activated glycosyltranserases may play an important role in wound healing. In the treatment of osteoporosis, a study showed that manganese and calcium was better than calcium alone in preventing bone loss over a two year test period.*

Potassium
Active Immune Support is a good source of potassium. Potassium is essential to cardiac function, a deficiency of which may result in abnormal heartbeat (arrhythmia) This musa plant extract is helpful in reducing the risk of high blood pressure and stroke.*

Potassium is a vital mineral which helps to normalize the heartbeat, send oxygen to the brain and regulates the body’s water balance. Not only does potassium provide nutrients for the heart and respiratory system, it is also essential to healthy brain function. Research has shown that substances high in potassium can assist in learning and alertness.*

The FDA has allowed the banana industry to make health claims regarding the fruits ability to lower the risks of high blood pressure and stroke.
