Back orders are not common, but unfortunately are inevitable in retail sales. We are very proactive in determining if we or the manufacturer has run out of an item. However, unexpected delays are possible. If in case such a delay occurs, we will contact you ASAP via your order status page, email, and/or by phone.
We appreciate your patience in such rare occurrences, and your understanding that such delays do not award you free goods or services. A simple analogy would be when your local grocery store runs out of bread during an unexpected winter storm. The store cannot suddenly afford to give away their products and services due to the unexpected surge in demand. Quite simply, they would go out of business.
Be assured that we reserve the right to work with you towards a fair remedy for unexpected delays. Please view our Shipping section to read more about our back order policy. |

Also referred to as fillers by the Food Chemical Codex, excipients are inactive ingredients used in some products. These are nutrient compounds which are utilized for their physical properties to aid in the supplement production process. They are derived from edible sources and are generally free of common allergens. Read a product's ingredients to determine which, if any, natural additives are included. The following are common excipients:
Cellulose Powder is derived from fibrous plant material, is insoluble in water and is used as a filler. In addition to being used as a filler, cellulose powder is sold as an individual supplement as a pure insoluble fiber, and is extremely well tolerated. Silicon Dioxide, or silica is one of the most common chemical compounds. Silica plays an important role in biological processes. Most rocks and minerals are made of silicon dioxide and other minerals. Silica is insoluble in water and used for its drying properties. Stearic Acid is an 18 carbon, naturally occurring saturated fatty acid. It is a component of membrane structure and is utilized for its lubricating properties. Magnesium Stearate contains stearic acid and magnesium palmitate, which is magnesium salt of a 16 carbon saturated fatty acid, also common in membrane structure. It is also utilized for its lubricating properties. Dicalcium phosphate (calcium phosphate, dibasic) is a white, odorless, tasteless powder that is stable in air. It is practically insoluble in water, but is readily soluble in hydrochloric acid. CarboWax, polyethylene glycol, is used in food products (polyethylene is the masticatory substance in chewing gum base) as a lubricant, binder, dispersing agent, and flavoring adjuvant. Miglyol 812® is a particular brand of medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil. Miglyol 812® MCT is fractionated coconut oil having a boiling range of 240-270°C and composed of saturated C8 (50-65%) and C10 (30-45%) triglycerides. It is widely used as a safe oil in food manufacturing, nutritional supplements, and in research. |

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is a certification of the FDA which guarantees that any products a company makes are safe and pure. The regulations also address issues including recordkeeping, personnel qualifications, sanitation, cleanliness, equipment verification, process validation and complaint handling. There are many supplement companies on the market today, and some are more concerned about quality control than others. Although not all of our manufacturers are listed under the GMP certification, they are all very careful about quality control and guarantee the potency and quality of their products. |

In the USA, these number/letter combinations are used to indicate the potency of the product. The number indicates how many times the solution has been diluted. The letter is a roman numeral, (X=10, C=100, M=1,000), and refers to the proportion of the dilution (1/10, 1/100, etc.). Generally, acute, localized symptoms are treated with low numbers such as 6C. The 30C potencies are most common, and used for first aid, seasonal ailments, and chronic health concerns. Potencies of 200 or higher are often only used when recommended by a qualified homeopath.

| It may contain traces, unless the manufacturer has specifically noted otherwise. The enzyme nattokinase was first identified in and isolated from a Japanese food, natto, made from boiled, fermented soybeans. Nowadays, most production of nattokinase involves a medium that includes only a small percentage of soy, and when the enzyme is extracted and purified from that medium, the soy remaining will be very little. Note that nattokinase may be presented in a base containing soy oil. For instance, some nattokinase products are in a base of soy oil, others in rice bran oil, and others may be partnered with natural vitamin E derived from soy. |

| Most brands of Saccharomyces boulardii (a probiotic, non-colonizing yeast species, not a probiotic, colonizing bacteria like L. acidophilus) are somewhat heat sensitive, and should be stored in the refrigerator whenever possible. However, such brands can readily survive short-term exposure to higher heat, or extended periods of cool (but not refrigerated) storage. However, whenever possible, refrigerate to insure product viability. If the specific Saccharomyces boulardii product you are viewing on our website is a heat sensitive brand, we will clearly display it as "Heat Sensitive" on that product's web page and in the shopping cart. For such products, we strongly recommend that you choose expedient shipping, especially during hot summer weather. We currently carry one brand of Saccharomyces boulardii which does not require refrigeration, and that is Florastor. |

Many manufacturers of SAMe do not require special refrigerated handling of this product. However, refrigeration of SAMe may increase the shelf life. Therefore, we refrigerate all of the SAMe stock in our warehouse until shipment, and advise you that refrigeration once you have received and opened the product may extend its shelf life. You may also consider choosing expedient shipping, especially during hot summer weather. If the specific brand of SAMe you are viewing on our website is a heat sensitive brand, we will clearly display it as "Heat Sensitive" on that product's web page and in the shopping cart. For such products, we strongly recommend that you choose expedient shipping, especially during hot summer weather.
Because SAMe is a natural product, there can be variations in color. This is normal and does not mean that the product is faulty or expired. |

| Some of our products and/or shipments require a reasonable shipping fee. When applicable, our shipping fees reflect the actual shipping cost, including but not limited to, the freight, packing materials, and handling. We are thrilled when you can find shipping fees with other companies for less, but we cannot "match" shipping fees. |

No. Please note we and/or our premium carriers do not consider weekend days as delivery or transit days for ground and expedited shipments (such as UPS Ground, UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Next Day Air). However, the US Postal Service may include Saturday as a delivery or transit day at their discretion.
While special Saturday-delivery expedited shipping services (such as UPS Next Day Saturday Delivery and UPS 2nd Day Air Saturday Delivery), may be available to some locations within the 48 contiguous United States, Hawaii and Alaska, we do not use these services and you will not find them in our shopping cart. In our experience, these services are too expensive, too complicated, and too often end up leaving our customers discouraged and unsatisfied. |

| It may or may not be, depending on the shipping service you select and possibly your geographical location. Irradiation is when the US Postal Service beams high intensity radiation onto mail and packages to kill any anthrax or other deadly substance which may be transported. This may present a problem when shipping foods and dietary supplements, as it not only kills anthrax, but also may have an impact on the supplements or foods. To the best of our knowledge, the only packages which are being irradiated are the ones going through the Washington D.C. post office. For those items, we recommend using UPS, as they, to the best of our knowledge, do not use irradiation. |

"Vegetarian capsule" refers to a vegetarian product containing only vegetarian ingredients that is encapsulated in a vegetarian capsule. Vegetarian capsules are often made of pine bark, as is definitely the case with Allergy Research Group and Nutricology products in "Vegetarian Capsule" form, and most likely is the case with our other vendor's products in "Vegetarian Capsule" form.
"Vegetable capsule," as used primarily by Pure Encapsulations. also refers to a capsule made of pine bark. However, the ingredients of a "Vegetable" capsule may or may not be vegetarian, depending on the product.
We do our best to label all truly Vegetarian products as such on each product's own web page. Please call our customer service department should you need verification that a product is or is not vegetarian.

A proprietary formula, also known as a "'proprietary trade formulation," is a patented formulation of ingredients. A product composed of such a formula, such as Vitalzym, is required by the FDA to list the sum total of ingredients, but is not required to list the quantity of each ingredient in the blend. As much as we'd like to, we simply can’t find out, and therefore can't relay to you, the exact proportions of the enzymes in the Vitalzym proprietary formula. Think of 'the Colonel's Secret Recipe' and you'll get the idea. |
